Tanzania Program Background
We are working to transform veterinary care in Tanzania and reducing dog and cat suffering. We’re providing hands-on training, mentorship, and community engagement. Our program is uplifting veterinary services and while fostering a culture of compassion and care.
We’ve sent teams to communities in Dodoma, Mpwapwa, Morogoro, and Dar es Salaam, where we have demonstrated best practices and advanced care techniques for small animals and providing guidance to local pet owners on basic pet care.

Our Work
Through partnership with Tanzania Animal Welfare Society (TAWESO), Animal Smile Africa, Sokoine University of Agriculture, and Visele Livecrop Skills Training Centre we provided in in-depth, practical training for local veterinary professionals.
The team provided in in-depth, practical training for local veterinary professionals designed to prepare them for preventative medicine, anesthesia, surgical procedures, and other best practices that increase animal health and welfare standards.
By educating and equipping veterinary students and professionals, the program enhances local capacities to provide compassionate, preventative care, directly reducing animal suffering and disease transmission. This initiative also reduces operational costs and health risks within communities by empowering pet owners with knowledge on responsible pet care and public health.
Efforts continue by focusing on strengthening relationships with local NGOs, veterinary training institutes, and government officials to ensure the program's long-term sustainability.
